Scrapping of container ships intensify after higher scrap prices

25 container ships were sold as scrap in June, and this almost corresponds to half of the capacity scrapped since the start of the year. But prices are still low, writes Alphaliner.

The market for scrapping of container ships is now up and running again after the coronavirus pandemic.

According to analyst firm Alphaliner, 25 container ships for a total of 68,000 teu were sold as scrap in June. This corresponds to almost half of the capacity scrapped since the start of the year.
